Okay, san pa banda makati? Dito pa? Okay na? :)))

No need to freak out and make sumbong to Zee. Let me explain!! Hahaha!

We were invited to the press launch of STRIP Ministry of Waxing, which was held at the Ark Avilon Zoo at Tiendesitas!

New friends! Ana with Jeman Villanueva of Orange Magazine and Elaine Carag of CHALK Magazine
The hosts of the event- MAGIC 89.9 DJ's TonyToni, Sam YG, and Slickrick
I have heard a lot of HORROR stories from other friends who have tried an ALL-OFF brazilian waxing and it just makes me cringe, and pee in my pants a little. Ok, the peeing part was a joke. LOL.

But!! STRIP promised that their service would be much less painful (3 on a scale of 10, 10 being the highest level of pain), I thought hey you know what, we only live life once.. Why not try to go ALL OFF? Haha!

My friend forever, Ana Gonzales. :)
So as you can see, I wasn't the only one who got a piece of the action. HAHA!
Among other things, STRIP also promises to give you the best basing on
HYGIENE- They never double dip their spatulas, they always wear latex gloves and face masks, and they supply wet wipes and disposable bed sheets for each customer.
SPEED- They can do a brazilian in 15 minutes flat!
QUALITY- Chances are, you've heard about post-wax side effects (red bumps, irritation and getting "chicken skin"). While most girls consider that "normal", you should know that it's mostly a result of poor service. STRIP's waxperts are trained to remove hair with utmost care so they assure you that you're in good hands. They only use the finest premium waxes and they also offer the best post-wax care. They always have a medical specialist on call to take care of your post-wax care needs.

Tonytoni "stripping off" one of the models

When I "stripped off" one of the models, the hair that "came off" came with a gift certificate for an upper lip waxing service-- which I don't need, and will probably give away. Haha! So if you're interested in having this GC, all you have to do is POST A COMMENT and I'll have it sent to you. :)
Slickrick doing what he does best! LOL!! :)))
Da moves! Haha!!
Something new, something sweet from the Ministry of Waxing

STRIP introduces the Strawberry Wax, developed specially for first time Brazilian virgins! It packs in the healing powers of chamomile and aloe vera to calm and soothe even the most tender skin.

Tab Abad- STRIP Marketing Manager
It was a really fun event (props to the organizers) and I'm really glad that I was given this opportunity because believe it or not, I've always wanted to blog about BRAZILIAN WAXING. Hahaha!!

Let's all be mature about this and try not to burst out into laughter.. But... Like I said, I've personally never tried an ALL-OFF Brazilian wax mainly because I am scared shitless of what might happen to me. :)))

After this "informative" press launch though, I feel like I actually wanna give it a try...
I promise to blog about my experience and let you guys know if STRIP stayed true to their promise about providing quality service! :)

In the meantime, I'll leave you with some more pictures from the event. :)

Femme Fatale: NADIA ABOULHOSN

You know how slim/petite girls (almost) always looks good in anything they choose to wear? And how the curvy ones are always given these rules about what NOT to wear because it's not for our "body type", etc.. Well, I have recently discovered the awesomeness that is Nadia Aboulhosn on the internet (thanks to The Plump Pinay) and oh my... She just blew me away. All those "rules" about what not to wear for my body type went out the window.
The first time I visited her blog, I ended up reading all of her posts. And what makes her even more interesting is the fact that she buys most of her clothes from thrift stores and not from the mall.. So you know that she's the type who isn't just following any trend!

Her photos, her vlog, even her outfits clearly say that she is the kind of girl who is dauntless and will wear whatever she likes without any regard to other people's opinion about "fashion". She knows what she wants and she refuses to follow any rules except her own and that is just the kind of woman I really look up to.

I wanted to get to know her more and ask her if she's ever had days when she didn't feel so good about herself (I know I do!) and what does she do to overcome that kind of feeling? Here's what she had to say..

"Believe it or not, as fearless and confident as I am, I am only human and do have some insecurities as well as regrets. As strong as confident as I want to be for my followers, I want them to also understand that they too, can overcome any insecurities they have. Anyone who says they aren't insecure in some way are full of it.

My past regrets and insecurities are what have made me strong as I am today. There was a point in my life where I wasn't happy with myself. It took a lot of time and it wasn't easy. It didn't happen overnight, I knew not to expect fast results.

The best way I overcame insecurities is I changed what I wasn't happy with. If I couldn't change what I didn't like, then I changed my view or perception of it. For instance, if you don't like the way your life is headed, then ask yourself what goals, steps, and moves can I make to get on the right path?

Physically, there was aspects of myself I could and could not change. My weight for example, was something I could change. Weight has always been an issue of mine because it constantly fluctuated. If I feel a little heavier, then I eat healthy until I'm comfortable again. If it is a physical aspect I can't change about myself, like how wide my feet are, then I think to myself, there's plenty of people out there who would love my feet. Haha!

The definition of beauty is defined differently by every person. To one person you could be unattractive, and to the next, you could be gorgeous. So keep that in mind.

I'd have to say much of my confidence came from my past. What I do to overcome any insecure feelings is remind myself I have so many positive things going for me and I didn't come this far to give up now. I look past insecurities of mine and try not to drown myself in regrets. Be sure to stay optimistic, learn from every mistake, never doubt yourself.

The best advice is your own. Always push forward, always focus on the positive rather than the negative, and don't let other people or society define what beauty is for you. You're given a brain, think for yourself, don't let other people's biased opinions define you as a person.

Be sure to be yourself everywhere you go, don't be ashamed of who you are. It's easier to be yourself than anyone else. If you accept yourself, then other people will accept you too. If they don't, then they don't need to be around.

The way to stay confident is to find a purpose in life. A place where you feel comfortable at and comfortable with yourself. You know yourself better than anyone else, TRUST YOU.

I never lose sight of my vision. This is how I have become so confident with myself. If you're confident with who you are on the inside, then it automatically shows on the outside. When you know who you are as a person and what you want out of life, confidence comes naturally.."

I really really love this dress on her :)

Isn't she wonderful? I am seriously in love with this girl.
I wish I could post more of her outfits but I'll just let you stalk her blog here.

Thank you Nadia for being so nice and for being an inspiration. :)

Omakase Restaurant, Tomas Morato

I can't remember how many times I've eaten at Omakase and I can't even describe just how much I love it there. It's definitely my favorite (so far) Japanese restaurant in the Philippines.

Took my family there and they got obsessed too!
BDR Platter
Spicy Tuna Salad

Oyster Butteryaki
Forgot the name of this one but it's sort of like Pork Asado with tofu! Really good too!

All the ones I mentioned above are my most highly recommended dishes. :)
If you haven't tried it there yet, then I suggest that you do!!! This is for all my friends who will be visiting the Philippines soon.. :)
